That's not just a tagline—it's the foundation of everything we do.
I've been horse-obsessed my entire life. At 17, I spent my first car savings on a foal named Hugo. Looking back, buying a young, green horse as a teenager was probably mad—but that decision changed everything.
Hugo taught me to see horses as individuals with complex needs. When traditional approaches failed us, I dove deep: applied learning theory, natural horsemanship, biomechanics, bodywork, nutrition, and ultimately, saddle fitting. Every subject led me to the same realisation: horses were telling us what they needed, but we weren't listening—or we didn't have the knowledge to understand.
As my horses developed through corrective bodywork, better farriery, and training changes, their saddles couldn't keep up. Fitters weren't available frequently enough. Adjustments weren't being made with the precision required. Horses were being held back by equipment that no longer served them.
So I did what any obsessive horse person would do: I learned to do it myself. Properly.
I didn't take one course and call myself qualified. I pursued five separate saddle fitting certifications across multiple countries, each offering unique perspectives:
I've also spent years learning from vets, farriers, bodyworkers, biomechanics specialists, and nutritionists—because saddle fit doesn't exist in isolation. It's one piece of a complex puzzle.
After two decades of fitting horses across disciplines, I've learned this: what works for one horse won't necessarily work for another. Every horse is an individual. Every situation is unique.
My role isn't to sell you a saddle. It's to guide you to the right solution for YOUR horse using evidence-based assessment, scientific knowledge, and honest expertise.
That's why I've built International Saddle Company around three core offerings:
Premium Saddle Brands: Four carefully curated brands combining British and international craftsmanship with evidence-based design
Expert Consultation & Fitting: Comprehensive assessments using biomechanics, pressure distribution science, and 20 years of practical experience
Professional Fitter Training: A rigorous certification program raising industry standards by educating the next generation of qualified saddle fitters
There's nothing more satisfying than watching a horse transform. When the right saddle, bodywork, training, and nutrition align, horses don't just change shape—they gain confidence, personality, and freedom of movement.
Saddle fitting is a bit like driving: you learn the basics when qualifying, then spend years honing your skills through experience. Every horse I visit teaches me something new, even after 20 years in this industry.
I'm also passionate about education. I lecture at an equine college and university, and I'm expanding that through my professional fitter training program. If I can help a horse—or help YOU help your horse—I will. That's what drives me.
I'm bringing British saddle fitting expertise to the United States, starting in Texas and expanding nationwide. Whether you're a horse owner seeking the perfect fit, a rider struggling with saddle issues, or an aspiring professional wanting to build a career in evidence-based saddle fitting, I'm here to help.
Because every horse deserves a saddle that truly fits. And every owner deserves guidance they can trust.
